This three-dimensional work sprung from a documentary I saw on the exploitations of the conquistadors in Central and South America. The symbolism includes references to architectural elements from the ruins at Chichen Itza, using black stucco to represent the devastation of this ancient civilization by the Spanish and the subsequent reclaiming of their cities by the jungle.
